Hide and Seek

Unfortunately 2/4 of my fam are picky eaters so I'm always looking for less adventurous places to eat at when we are traveling abroad. Came here because of the ratings. Have to say when we first rolled up we were slightly concerned given this is an older cafe and allows smoking (which as California residents we really weren't used to). Ordered the breakfast toast sets: cheese, bacon, egg, and mixed (cheese-bacon-egg) and lemonade. The breakfast toasts were delicious! Perfectly seasoned and he made the refreshing lemonade by hand. So glad to have found it as we all really enjoyed the meal. So if you can handle being in a smoky environment for 20-30 minutes while you eat breakfast or lunch I wouldn't hesitate to stop by and support this local business. In fact as we were thinking where to eat dinner, my daughter even recommended going back.

〜近江町市場で隠れた名店発見！古き良き喫茶店でコスパ抜群モーニング〜 金沢の近江町市場近く、「十間町口」または「パーキング口」のすぐ前にある「ハイドアンドシーク」で、夫婦でモーニングをいただきました。Googleマップで「モーニング」と検索して見つけた、知る人ぞ知るカフェです。 日曜日の朝8時、開店5分前に到着しましたが、誰も並んでおらず少し不安に。しかし、開店と同時にどこからともなくお客さんが現れ、店内はあっという間に賑わい始めました。 店内は、朝日が差し込み明るく、古き良き喫茶店の雰囲気が漂っています。一見するとこだわりのなさそうな男性の店主が一人で切り盛りされており、そのマイペースな対応もまたご愛嬌。入店時に少しタバコの匂いを感じましたが、壁のヤニの色とは裏腹に、不思議と店内はタバコ臭くありませんでした。喫煙可能なカフェなので、タバコが気になる方は、運次第といったところでしょうか。 私たちは「モーニングBセット」（ベーコンエッグトースト、コーヒーor紅茶付きで450円）をオーダー。アイスコーヒーにしたのでプラス50円でした。ワンオペレーションなので提供まで15分ほどかかりましたが、観光地にもかかわらず、この価格でこのボリュームのモーニングが楽しめるのは非常に良心的です。内容は至って普通ですが、それがかえって安心感を与えてくれます。 特筆すべきは、店主の接客です。見た目からは想像できないほど、会計後から退店するまでに「ありがとうございました」を4度も言ってくださり、その丁寧な姿勢に最後まで気持ちよく過ごすことができました。 ちなみに、ランチは11:30～13:30で日替わり660円と、こちらも破格の安さです。金沢でコスパの良いモーニングやランチを探している方には、ぜひ一度訪れてみてほしい隠れた名店です。

The owner is very nice and I felt really welcome in this café. The cheese toast and the lemon tea I ordered were freshly made and tasty. On the same hand, it was not expensive. As others already pointed out, smoking is allowed in this café.

Such a cool cafe, coffee does the job and the egg toast is delicious

A quaint coffee shop in central Kanazawa, just off one of the main streets. Seems to be regularly patroned by many office workers in the area. Mostly quiet in the hours before and after noon, with only the sound of the TV breaking the silence. The old owner is friendly, his service is efficient, and the coffee is acceptable. Time has stood still here for a while; it's a nice, nostalgic atmosphere.
